PlayStation Localisation

As a global brand, PlayStation campaigns are often viewed across multiple international markets. As a result, English master assets need to be localised into a variety of languages. Below are two such projects that I worked on.

Role: Digital Designer

It Happens on PS5

To support the TV campaign, I developed a suite of digital assets across multiple formats, including HTML5 banners, static social placements and homepage takeovers, celebrating five years of PlayStation 5. Built around the slogan ‘It Happens on PS5’, the campaign highlighted the platform’s diverse gaming experiences and exclusive titles available on the console.

I created a series of test animations in After Effects to explore different layout and motion options, including variations featuring two and three game images. The tests focused on how elements of the artwork overlap the white frame, the positioning of the console and the inclusion of promotional and ratings messaging. Staying closely aligned with the print layouts, I also developed the headline animation and refined the masked image reveal transitions to create a cohesive visual flow.

The global media rollout spanned more than 20 markets including the US, UK, Japan, Germany, France, Latin America, Saudi Arabia, Canada and Australia. It was also one of the first PlayStation localisation projects I contributed to that was managed in-house rather than outsourced, giving me hands-on experience adapting creative assets for international audiences at scale.

PlayStation Plus

With the ‘More of What You Love’ campaign, PlayStation Plus focused on helping players discover more of what matters most to them through a service built to drive engagement and inspire each player to expand their world of play. The campaign involved creating animated and static banner ads, alongside social placements, showcasing the extensive games library and exclusive benefits available across different membership tiers.

As with the previous campaign, the creative had to be localised into several different languages for delivery to multiple global markets.
